Key Benefits
- Hassle-free enjoyment
- Reduced servicing costs
- Protection of your musical instrument investment
Guidelines
A woodwind instrument requires
proper care and maintenance. Here are some tips to keep your instrument
working well and give you maximum enjoyment from your playing.
- Put the instrument in
its case whenever you finish playing it
- Do not put music folders
inside the instrument case as this can damage the instrument
Never expose your instrument
to any prolonged source of heat (e.g. avoid leaving your instrument
in cars during summer.)
Take care when
assembling your instrument and avoid placing hands on the keys
Regularly apply
cork grease to cork
on your instrument
Do not eat or drink
immediately before playing your instrument (in particular avoid soft
drinks.)
Dry the inside of the
instrument with a pull-through each time you finish playing. (Use a
cleaning rod for
flutes)
It is suggested that you
submit your instrument for key lubrication service on an annual
basis
Use a
polishing cloth to
remove fingerprints and grit from the instrument's body if you have
a lacquered instrument
Use a
silver cloth if you
have a sliver plated instrument
